We are family...

Family.

What does family mean to you? For some it means home, security. For others, it means a group of people who provide unfailing love. I know people who think the word family is just a painful reminder of people who have let them down (I am not one of those people).

To me, for someone to be considered family, it doesn't mean they don't ever hurt you or disappoint you. Family means that despite any amount of hurt, there is never-ending love. No matter what.

Family isn't always blood. I have several people close to me that I regard as family (Beka, Kyle, their dogs, other friends). Friends who I consider family are always there for me and I am (HOPEFULLY!) always there for them. It's a bond that cannot be broken. It's a bond that, no matter how much time passes between visits, you pick back up without missing a beat.

Family is there through the good times and the bad. They cheer you on, they annoy you, they support you, they help you, they hear you, they drive you crazy, but they love you. I know not everyone is lucky enough to have this type of family. I am grateful that I am. While my family has problems and is far from perfect, I feel like I can always count on them.

I love the people I consider family and I hope they all know how wonderful they are.

Today, when I was driving, I felt an overpowering feeling of love pouring out of me.... like I just needed to let people close to me know how much I care (and thanks to the encouragement of my cousin, I will be doing so). Any number of reasons could take these people away from us in a split second. The point of this particular post is to encourage you to do the same: Wish someone well. Send someone a compliment. Tell someone you're praying for them or even just thinking of them. It's almost guaranteed to make someone smile & you'll feel good afterwards. Due to personal reasons, I am reaching out to family first, but please reach out to anyone: family, friends, a co-worker, etc. Spread kindness. Share the love. Bring people (and yourself) some happiness. 💗

  1. You absolutely blessed me when you messaged me, your right, we take it for granted that "they know" we love them, but sometimes it great to hear it. Family is where your heart it, not perfect, but perfected in love and support. Love you sweetheart and what a beautiful message. Forever Aunt Janie
